Energy Efficiency

We can help design and build environmentally friendly, comfortable and cost efficient homes by significantly reducing the need for mechanical heating or cooling.

A major benefit of using GreenSmart initiatives to reduce energy consumption is potentially higher resale values. Energy efficient homes are already reportedly fetching premium prices in many areas and it is reasonable to expect this trend to continue if energy costs continue to rise due to the transition to renewable energy.

Following are examples of products to reduce energy consumption:

External Wall Cladding

Ezyclad - Lightweight thermally efficient system up to 3 times more efficient than brick veneer construction. Provides a modern rendered finish.

Enviroseal Wall Wrap

Provides additional thermal insulation and weather protection for your home

External Wall Insulation

R1.5 batts

Anticon Roof Blanket

Placed between roof frame and roof – greatly reduces heat transfer into the home

Ceiling Insulation

R3.0 batts

Roof Vents

Allows hot air contained in the roof space to escape

Hot Water Service

Electric Heatpump, Gas or Solar Hot Water System – Recent legislation has stopped the use of standard electric hot water services. With the Heatpump and Solar Hot Water services Renewable Energy Certificates (REC’s) are supplied with the purchase of the unit. REC’s are a tradable commodity and can be sold to brokers. At present (October 2008) the REC’s for a unit to service an average size home are worth approximately $1,500.

Glazing

Tinted or ComfortPlus Glass – used to minimise heat gain or loss through windows – not necessarily required for all windows, priority should be given to those windows that will receive the majority of the summer sun.

Compact Fluorescent Lighting

Available for standard light fittings and recessed down lights
